Jonathan W. Hargrove
Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Jonathan founded Aethon Capital in 1996 after a distinguished career at Goldman Sachs, where he served as Managing Director of the Principal Investment Area. Under his leadership, Aethon has grown from a single-strategy fund to a diversified global investment platform managing over $42 billion in assets. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in Economics from Princeton University.
Catherine M. Reeves
President & Chief Operating Officer
Catherine oversees all operational aspects of Aethon Capital, including fund administration, investor relations, and strategic planning. Prior to joining Aethon in 2003, she spent twelve years at McKinsey & Company, where she led the Financial Institutions practice. She serves on the boards of several portfolio companies and is a Trustee of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
David Chen
Managing Partner, Private Equity
David leads Aethon's flagship private equity business, overseeing investments across industrials, healthcare, and technology. He has originated and executed over $18 billion in transactions during his 20-year tenure. Previously, he was a Vice President at Bain Capital. David holds a JD/MBA from Stanford University and a BSE from the University of Pennsylvania.
Alexandra Fontaine
Managing Partner, Real Estate
Alexandra directs Aethon's real estate investment activities across the Americas and Europe. She has overseen the acquisition and development of more than 45 million square feet of commercial and residential properties. Before joining Aethon in 2008, she was a Senior Managing Director at Brookfield Asset Management. She holds an MBA from INSEAD.
Richard A. Thornton
Chief Investment Officer
Richard is responsible for Aethon's overall investment strategy and portfolio construction across all asset classes. With over 25 years of experience in alternative investments, he previously served as CIO of the Yale University Endowment's external managers program. He holds a PhD in Financial Economics from MIT and is a CFA charterholder.
Priya Mehta
Managing Partner, Credit & Infrastructure
Priya leads Aethon's credit and infrastructure platforms, managing over $12 billion in assets across direct lending, structured credit, and global infrastructure investments. She joined Aethon from Apollo Global Management, where she was a Partner in the credit business. Priya holds an MBA from Wharton and serves on the Board of the Global Infrastructure Investor Association.
